A programme that places the violin centre stage, exploring its remarkable range of colours and expressive possibilities through an unusual ensemble composed entirely of violins. Led by Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, the principal players of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano guide the audience on a musical journey that moves from the concise, folk-inspired writing of Bartók's Duos, to the dazzling virtuosity and theatrical flair of Hermann's Caprices and Burlesque, culminating in the evocative, narrative world of Schubert's Erlkönig, presented in a striking arrangement for five violins. Here, a single instrument—multiplied and transformed—becomes voice, drama and imagination.
