Museo Poldi Pezzoli
Opened to the public in 1881 and beloved by both Milanese visitors and international audiences, the Poldi Pezzoli Museum captivates not only with the charm of its interiors, which evoke different eras of the past, from the Middle Ages through the 18th century to the Armoury, reinterpreted by contemporary artist Arnaldo Pomodoro, but also with the variety and richness of its collections.
Thirty rooms house masterpieces of painting and sculpture, as well as carpets, lace and embroidery, arms and armour, jewellery, porcelain, glass, furniture, and sundials and mechanical clocks: more than 6,000 extraordinary objects spanning from antiquity to the 19th century, all immersed in a magical atmosphere.
