La noce d’Alfonse
Characterised by a declared 1970s aesthetic, Le nozze di Alfonse blends top-quality performance, sharp wit and live music dominated by the traditional sounds of Quebec, all served with poetry, energy and fantasy. The artists play with the audience, improvising and transforming the stage into a collective dance floor. Every evening, an audacious procession stages a series of scenes that are as acrobatic as they are passionate.
A celebration of love in all its forms, with an irresistible blend of poetry, humour, acrobatics and live music. In this “heartfelt freak show”, an audacious procession stages romantic and spectacular scenes, culminating every evening in the wedding between a couple chosen from the audience. The sound of Quebecois folk music contaminated by Caribbean influences, marks the rhythm of this original “vintage wedding”. Inspired by 1970s aesthetics and driven by constant interaction with the audience, the creation carries the unmistakable mark of the French-Canadian collective Cirque Alfonse: audacity and fantasy. Founded in 2006 by the Carabinier-Lépine family, the company has wooed audiences and critics with international tours and shows that reinvent Quebecois tradition with irony and creativity.
