Benvenuti al Piccolo!
Dedicated to secondary schools, it is a sustainable journey through the spaces of the theatre and through texts that emphasize ecological themes and dialogue with the environment, accompanied by stories and curiosities from the present and past life of Piccolo Teatro and its real and imaginary inhabitants.
Climate change has created yet another Shakespearean storm by transporting a secondary school class to an unknown island (Saramago) inhabited by singular characters who become the guides of an eco-tour to discover the sustainable lightness of theatre. The island appears almost like a furious forest (Ariosto) in which the trees are convinced that they have the power to transform nature, things and the rules of civilised living. They love questions and enjoy looking for many different interpretations: they question the relationship between human beings and the environment (Ibsen), the division of tasks and hierarchies in groups (Marivaux), the relationship as pre-adolescent as it is actorly between what we think we are and how we appear to others (interpreter vs. character). The class becomes part of the island tribe and actively participates in the creation of a new and special constitutional charter that also includes plant rights (Mancuso).
