Gli Etruschi e l’Olanda. A/R dei bronzi Corazzi
An exceptional group of precious Etruscan bronzes returns to Italy. The works come from the Corazzi Collection in Cortona and are now held at the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden.
Alongside the bronzes, a selection of publications traces their critical reception and collecting history.
Storia di un gesto. Il mito di Meleagro dall’arte classica a Warburg, a Picasso
Curated by Salvatore Settis, the exhibition centres on the first public display of the front panel of a Roman sarcophagus depicting the Death of Meleager, reunited with its side reliefs preserved in Florence. The exhibition traces the survival of an ancient gesture of despair, from Roman art to Nicola Pisano, Giotto and Picasso, including Guernica.
Panels from Aby Warburg’s Bilderatlas Mnemosyne complete this exploration of the continuity and transformation of images from antiquity to the present day.
