Fondazione Luigi Rovati

A journey through time, where the ancient feels close, unexpected, and still capable of challenging the way we see the world.

Fondazione Luigi Rovati, with its art museum in the heart of Milan, is a place of exhibition, research and experimentation, where Etruscan, modern and contemporary works come together in an original journey between archaeology and art.

The Museum houses a significant collection of Etruscan artefacts, dating from the 9th to the 1st century BC, displayed alongside 20th- and 21st-century works through formal, iconographic and material connections. The permanent collection is complemented by temporary exhibitions organised in collaboration with Italian and international institutions.

Housed in the historic Palazzo Bocconi-Rizzoli at Corso Venezia 52, the museum combines the nineteenth-century interiors of the palace with newly designed spaces. The visitor journey unfolds from the evocative Hypogeum floor, entirely clad in stone, to the elegant rooms of the Piano Nobile, enriched by site-specific installations by contemporary artists.

Through the Museo Gentile project, Fondazione Luigi Rovati places particular emphasis on accessibility, inclusion and wellbeing, ensuring that the museum is an open and welcoming space for everyone.

The Museum has received numerous national and international awards for its architecture, design, accessibility and the quality of its cultural projects, including the prestigious ADI Compasso d'Oro Award 2024.
