Fondazione Prada, Milan
A cultural campus encompassing a wide range of activities, from art and cinema to music, performing arts, neuroscience, and education.
Opened in 2015, Fondazione Prada's Milan venue was designed by OMA, led by Rem Koolhaas.
The project transformed the spaces of a former early twentieth-century distillery into an architectural campus of approximately 19,000 square meters. Seven former industrial buildings coexist with three new structures: the Podium, the Cinema Godard, and the Torre.
In addition to temporary exhibitions and projects, the Milan exhibition spaces house permanent installations by Thomas Demand, Robert Gober in dialogue with works by Louise Bourgeois, Andreas Slominski, and Jean-Luc Godard.
"Atlas" includes a selection of works by contemporary artists significant to Fondazione Prada's history.
Cinema Godard offers a program of screenings and talks with directors, critics, and actors.
The Biblioteca building includes Bar Luce, conceived by movie director Wes Anderson, the bookshop, the Accademia dei bambini, and a study room open to the public. Ristorante Torre is located on the sixth floor of the building of the same name.
