Teatro Franco Parenti is a landmark venue of Milan’s cultural life: a vibrant, ever-evolving theatre that offers fresh opportunities for discovery, connection, and engagement every single day.
Under the passionate and visionary leadership of Andrée Ruth Shammah, the Parenti presents over 70 different titles each year, alongside festivals, literary talks, book launches, concerts, workshops, conferences, and initiatives for audiences of all ages.
Its stages welcome leading icons of the Italian scene, emerging companies, contemporary playwrights, and interdisciplinary projects, creating a program that seamlessly weaves together tradition and experimentation, entertainment and reflection.
It is a unique institution both nationally and internationally: five theatre halls and a historic 1930s open-air swimming pool, the Bagni Misteriosi. Striking and iconic, in summer they become an urban oasis for swimming, shows, concerts, and social gatherings, while in winter they host an ice-skating rink. The complex was redesigned by architect Michele De Lucchi under Shammah's artistic direction, and its contemporary architecture makes it the ideal setting for events, exhibitions, fashion shows, and site-specific brand projects.
Welcoming over 150,000 theatregoers every year, Teatro Franco Parenti stands as one of the key spaces where Milan produces, shares, and lives culture.
