It is the perfect stop for farm-to-table shopping and an authentic lunch: you can opt for local farm street food directly from the stalls, or take a short walk toward Via Paolo Sarpi for a pizza or a gourmet meal in one of the neighborhood's trendy spots.

Just a few minutes away on foot, the Napoleon Eugenia Foundry (Fonderia Napoleonica Eugenia) reveals one of Milan’s most captivating industrial archaeology hidden gems. Dating back to the Napoleonic era, this site saw the casting of the bronzes for the Vittorio Emanuele II monument and the main doors of the Duomo.

Stepping into its courtyard amidst exposed brick and ancient plaster casts feels like traveling back in time. Frequently hosting exhibitions, guided tours, and artisan markets, the foundry offers an atmospheric break steeped in history and master craftsmanship.

Hop on the M2 metro line to Porta Genova to arrive directly at the Naviglio Grande for the grand finale. In the late afternoon, the golden light of sunset reflects on the water while nearly 400 stalls of the Large Antique Market (Mercatone dell'Antiquariato), held every last Sunday of the month, display vintage furniture, fine porcelain, estate jewelry, and rare vinyl records.
