The Forest
Claudio Tolcachir and Cristiana Morganti come together to create a story based on autobiographical moments and reflections that are echoed in the stories of characters from classical theatre and archetypes of the female world.
Bringing together narrative with the poetry of movement, blending autobiographical moments with echoes of characters from classical theatre, the dancer and actress Cristiana Morganti – for more than twenty years a soloist at Pina Bausch’s Tanztheater Wuppertal and now an independent choreographer – and the Argentine director and playwright Claudio Tolcachir create a contemporary fable that explores the theme of emotional betrayal. With an ironic and disenchanted gaze that focuses on tragicomic aspects, the play explores sentimental wounds, and reflects on the crisis in relations between parents and children and on the passage of time. Joined on stage by the actress Lisa Lippi Pagliai, Morganti explores a universe populated by shadows, ghosts and visions, where memory, death and the transformation of suffering interweave.
Duration: 1 hour and 20 minutes without intermission
