Viaggio a Hong Kong

Piccolo Teatro di Milano – Teatro d’Europa

Sandro Lombardi is the protagonist of this monologue on absence, written and directed by Pascal Rambert. The touching digression of a man consumed by loneliness, who brings order to the disorder of his life, brimming with memories, joy, suffering and love.

“Everything began with a working trip to Hong Kong. I was staying on the thirtieth floor of a hotel, and I imagined this elderly writer, who had just received an award, and who, following the death of his partner, decides to put his affairs in order and silently disappear”, is how Pascal Rambert describes the birth of this harrowing monologue. “I created the original version of the play for a great French actor, and after having worked with Sandro Lombardi on two projects – the Piccolo productions Prima and Durante – I said to him ‘I want to stage this play with you because I wrote it for your gentleness, your love and your talent, so we will do it together and it will be a vale of tears for the spectators’”

Duration: the play is currently in production and the duration may vary
