Gli occhi della guerra

Piccolo Teatro di Milano – Teatro d’Europa

War seen through the eyes of two reporters from Trieste who, in the Eighties, travelled the world to document wars first hand. From Afghanistan under Soviet invasion to ex-Yugoslavia, from continental Africa to the Middle East, forty years of experiences shared for reflection with the audience.

Under the direction of Paolo Valerio, experienced journalists and war reporters Fausto Biloslavo and Gian Micalessin take to the stage to tell of their lives spent on the front lines in the midst of conflict, fear, adrenalin, suffering and hope. In the Eighties they were the founders, together with Almerigo Grilz (killed in 1987 in Mozambique), of the freelance Albatross Press Agency, the purpose of which was to document the darker side of humanity. Drawing on film and photographic material, the play shows the horror of war as well as unexpected demonstrations of humanity. It is also the story of lives marked by the desire to bear witness to world events and by awareness of the risk faced by oneself and those closest. A conclusive invitation to not take the peace that Europe has enjoyed for eighty years for granted.
