Prima del Temporale
As he waits in his dressing room for his cue to take to the stage to perform Strindberg, a master of Italian theatre looks back over his life... Following the success achieved in the last season, Umberto Orsini – under the guidance of Massimo Popolizio – returns to paint the portrait of an actor facing the ghosts of his past.
An elderly actor, in the half-an-hour that separates him from his entry on stage to perform Strindberg’s The Storm, finds himself reliving a series of moments from his life, wandering among the ghosts of his past. “A few years ago, I wrote an autobiography that looked at my career as an artist”, explained Umberto Orsini who, following the public and critical success of the last season, is once again returning to the stage, “but the text for this play is the result of a fairly long process involving myself and the director Massimo Poplizio. It is a ride through memory and, as well as the career of the actor, there are also hidden stories and anecdotes from my life: my loves and friendships, that the audience are unaware of and that I am often asked to recount”.
Duration: 1 hour and 20 minutes without intermission
